How popular is Bitcoin? Apparently not popular enough just yet.
TikTok user JosephACostello asked a couple of young ladies in Austin if they would take $100 cash or 1 Bitcoin, they both replied they would take $100 cash. One of the girls said Bitcoin was fake to her the other said she didn’t know what it was but that it sounded like a scam. At the time Bitcoin was trading at a high of $40,708 / 1 Bitcoin.
When they heard this one of the girls replied with “What is that Dollars! What are we getting? Straight Dollars!” of course missing the math that at the time one Bitcoin equaled approximately 407 of those $100 dollar bills.

Of course it was at night on what appears to be 6th street in Austin on a weekend, so there’s a better than good chance both of these girls were far from sober and may not have noticed the decision they made. To be clear, unlike some popular YouTuber’s, Mr. Costello did not appear to be offering them either of these financial assets but merely doing a man-on-the-street question bit.
